Hamilton police have arrested a teen boy and are looking for two other suspects following a robbery in central Hamilton Tuesday afternoon.

Officers say three male youths had allegedly approached someone who was walking in the area of John Street North and Barton Street East at around 3 p.m.

Investigators say the boys began talking with the victim about his jacket, before demanding he hand it over.

When the victim refused, the boys allegedly produced what they described as a black firearm from a satchel.

The victim then surrendered his jacket before the suspects left the area.

Officers say after a quick search they allegedly found one of the suspects, taking a 15-year-old boy into custody without incident.

Police say a search incident to arrest resulted in the recovery of the stolen jacket and a realistic-looking black BB gun.

The teen has been charged with robbery with a firearm and is scheduled to appear in a courthouse at an undisclosed time and date.

Officers are still working on identifying and finding the two outstanding suspects.

Anyone with information is asked to contact 905-546-4725.
