Hamilton police charge driver in April fatal crash

Hamilton police have charged a man for a two-vehicle crash east of Binbrook that claimed one life and seriously injured three others in April.

On Tuesday, officers arrested and charged a 67-year-old man from Caistor Centre with eight offences including dangerous driving causing death as well as impaired driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sept.

Police say at around 8:10 p.m. on April 14, a Dodge Ram going southbound allegedly failed to stop at the intersection of Binbrook and Woodburn roads and crashed with a Ford Edge that was already in the area.

The impact had caused both vehicles to come to a stop at a nearby field.

Officers say the collision claimed the life of a 41-year-old man. A 45-year-old woman, a 22-year-old woman and a 1-year-old child also sustained serious injuries.
