Hamilton police say a two-vehicle collision Tuesday night at the intersection of Binbrook and Woodburn roads killed one man and sent four people to hospital.

Officers say at around 8:10 p.m., a Dodge Ram going southbound, allegedly failed to stop at the intersection and crashed with a Ford Edge that was already in the area.

The impact had caused both vehicles to come to a stop at a nearby field.

Investigators told CHCH News that there were four people in the Ford Edge: a man from London riding as a passenger who was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead; a woman riding as a passenger who sustained serious life-altering injuries; the woman who was driving the Ford Edge who sustained serious injuries; and an 18-month-old child who was riding in the vehicle, was transported to hospital with critical injuries but is now in stable condition.

The man who was driving the Dodge Ram was transported to hospital as a precaution and is in stable condition.

Detectives say they are attending the scene and an investigation remains ongoing.

While they say they anticipate charges at a later date, they don’t have any further details to give at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
