Niagara police have charged a man from Hamilton who is accused of uploading child sexual abuse material online.

In November of 2023, Niagara police began investigating several uploads of child sexual abuse material to a Google cloud-based storage device.

In conjunction with the Hamilton police, officers carried out a search warrant at a Hamilton residence on Thursday and seized several devices capable of storing data.

Police say evidence that they uncovered at the scene led them to make an arrest that day.

Authorities have charged Cody Alexander Fisher with one count of possessing child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography.

Additionally, Fisher is facing one additional charge for his failure to comply with a previous prohibition order regarding children from an earlier conviction.

Fisher is being held in custody until his scheduled bail hearing in St. Catharines on Thursday.
