Hamilton man busted in Texas
A hockey player originally from Hamilton has been arrested after allegedly breaking into a home in San Antonio, Texas while drunk and refusing to leave.
Police say a woman found Scott Timmins on her couch and called police. Her husband wasn’t too pleased. Benjamin Garza told KENS news: “I said, ‘you’re lucky I wasn’t here, because I would have put a bullet between your eyes and – you know – it would have been all over for you.'”
Police say Timmins told officers he did not mean to harm anyone in the house. Reports say he had been drinking at a bar called The Hangar and didn’t know how he ended up at the woman’s house.
The 23-year-old is in the final year of his entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers; he’s currently playing for the San Antonio Rampage in the AHL. The team has not commented.
