Hamilton man arrested in connection with violent assault involving female sex workers

Hamilton police arrested and charged a man Sunday in connection with a violent sexual assault investigation involving female sex workers in the city’s central area.

Officers say an investigation by the Sex Crimes Unit led to the arrest of 33-year-old Paul Kimani from Hamilton Sunday.

The investigation alleges that Kimani arranged to meet female sex workers in the central Hamilton area and became physically violent during their interactions.

Investigators have charged Kimani with offences including sexual assault, aggravated assault, theft of under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.

Detectives describe him as a five-foot-six tall Black man, weighing around 153 lbs, a medium build, short dark hair, a mustache and a goatee.

Police believe there may be additional victims, and released his photo to encourage anyone who may have gotten in contact with Kimani to come forward.
