Hamilton home sales and prices fall in February

The number of home sales and the average price of a home in Hamilton declined during the month of February, says Cornerstone Association of REALTORS.

Sales slowed to a meagre 388 units, the lowest February total since 2010.

New listings increased slightly to 909 units, exceeding long-term averages for the month and leading to increased total inventory.

The inventory growth and a reduction in sales contributed to a notable decline in average home prices.

Home prices in Hamilton have now reached an average of $764,838 – down nearly two per cent year over year.
