Hamilton doc wins prestigious award

A Hamilton doctor has received the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s Council Award.

Dr Keyna Bracken beat out several doctors across the province for the honours. Bracken is an assistant professor at McMaster University and physician director of the Maternity Centre of Hamilton.

The award is given to a physician who comes close to meeting society’s vision of an “ideal physician.” She was also praised for her deep commitment to issues of social justice and supporting immigrant and refugee health.
