Hamilton cop talks to CHCH News after hearing delayed yet again

Minutes after the hearing for Rob Mayea was postponed for the 20th time, the Hamilton Police sergeant on leave for post traumatic stress disorder called CHCH News.

Mayea is charged with insubordination and neglect of duty under the Police Services Act, after an unprofessional email was sent to his colleagues in 2011.

He told CHCH News he has not been able to submit the medical documents the police tribunal needs because he was not able to see his doctor over the holidays. He went on to say he sent nothing offensive in an email and he is “not getting away with anything.”

The next meeting to move forward with his hearing is February 3rd. He declined CHCH’s invitation to speak on camera.
