Hockey fans will have the chance to watch an outdoor hockey game featuring the Hamilton Bulldogs and Oshawa Generals at Tim Horton’s Field next month.

The Hamilton Bulldogs made the announcement on Tuesday during an interview on CHCH TV’s Morning Live.

The team says the 2022 Outdoor Showcase game will give fans a similar experience to what the NHL provides with the Winter Classic, Heritage Classic and Stadium Series games.

“I’m thrilled for our players, staff and fans to get to experience this once in a lifetime type of event,” said Michael Andlauer in a press release. “This Outdoor Showcase presents a wonderful opportunity to once again bring our community together through our Hamilton Bulldogs.”

The matchup featuring the divisional rivals will be played on March 14.

It will be the fourth OHL game to be played outdoors.

“This historic event is just the latest example of the tremendous partnership between the Bulldogs, Tiger-Cats and Forge FC and we’re thrilled to welcome them to Tim Hortons Field for the Outdoor Showcase,” said Matt Afinec, President and Chief Operating Officer, Hamilton Sports Group. “The Tiger-Cats and Forge FC have a tremendous home field advantage because of our great fans & supporters and we know many of them, along with the broader Hamilton community, will descend on the stadium on March 14th to join all the Bulldogs fans to ensure the team has [the] same type of support and advantage when they compete outdoors.”

Bulldogs fans attending the game are asked to wear black and gold to show their support.

The cost of tickets ranges between $25 and $45.
