Hamilton bank robbery

Hamilton police converged on a branch of the RBC in Westdale after a robbery Tuesday at about 11am.

The bank is located at Main and Whitney Streets.

There were reports the robbery involved a handgun.

The suspect is described as a slim black male in her 20’s who was wearing a hoodie.

He was also wearing a blue hat and sweat pants and was
last seen fleeing on Whitney.

Officers are also looking into whether a silver grey vehicle was also involved.

A perimeter has been established in the area and a nearby apartment is also blocked off.

The bank was locked down immediately after and staff were told not to touch anything.

Forensic investigators have been called in.
