Operations at the John Weir Foote Armoury on Hamilton’s James Street North has been temporarily relocated due to failing infrastructure.
Capt. Igor Winiarczyk says the primary boiler was unable to maintain heat which, in combination with extreme cold and aging infrastructure, led to water lines freezing and bursting.
This included fire suppression systems within the James Street building.
All armoury activities have been relocated to alternate locations and have had minimal impact on training.
