Hamas releases 24 hostages in exchange for 39 Palestinian prisoners in cease-fire swap

A four-day cease-fire in Gaza between Hamas and Israel began Friday, part of a deal coordinated by Qatar officials that also sees the first group of hostages released.
Hamas has released a group of hostages that have been held in Gaza, including 13 Israelis and 12 Thai citizens.
The deal also allowed for more shipments of fuel and supplies to be transported into Gaza, with 130,000 liters of fuel expected a day.

A group of Palestinian prisoners are expected to be released later in the evening Friday, including 24 women and 15 teenagers.
People in Palestine experienced quiet for the first time in seven weeks after the cease-fire began.
But, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he plans to resume the fighting once the cease-fire ends.
