Halton police investigate shooting in Oakville

Halton police say they responded to a shooting in Oakville Monday night.

Officers say police responded to a shooting that happened at a residence in the area of Ernest Appelbe Boulevard and Dundas Street East at around 11:50 p.m.

A man was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. 

Police say they have not made an arrest but investigators believe this is a targeted shooting and that the individuals involved are known to each other. 

Police continue to investigate and say residents can expect a continued police presence in the area.
