Halton police charge 3 men in drug trafficking investigation

Halton police have arrested and charged three men in a drug trafficking case in Burlington.

Following a week-long investigation, officers executed a search warrant Wednesday at a residence where they arrested three suspects. Police said two of the men were arrested outside in a parking lot and the third was arrested inside the residence.

Yahya Yusuf, 31, of Burlington has been charged with 12 different offences, including possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition and possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine (two counts), fentanyl and oxycodone.

Twenty-three-year-old Abdirahman Adan of Burlington has been charged with 11 different offences, including unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Ali Mohamud Ali, 28, of Calgary was also charged with 12 different offences, including possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

All three accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Police also seized a number of items such as a loaded colt 38 special revolver with the serial number partially defaced, cocaine, fentanyl and over $11,000 in cash.
