Halton police have arrested four people and laid multiple charges following a targeted shooting in Burlington.

On Oct. 29 at approximately 2:50 p.m., a person was operating a vehicle with three passengers along the rear driveway of a Food Basics located at 5353 Lakeshore Rd.

According to police, the driver noticed three masked men standing behind the store. As they drove past the men, a loud bang was heard and the passenger-side window shattered.

Investigators have determined that one of the masked men fired a gun at the vehicle in what officers are calling a targeted shooting. The masked men then ran to a waiting vehicle and fled the area.

The driver sustained minor facial injuries and is expected to make a full recovery. Authorities add that the remaining vehicle occupants were not injured.

Following the incident, an investigation began which led to the execution of multiple search warrants at four separate addresses in Burlington.

As a result, three men and one boy have been arrested and charged. Detectives also recovered the firearm believed to have been used in the shooting.
