Gun used in McDonald’s shooting was “lawfully possessed”

The lawyer for a security guard involved in a fatal shooting of two men at an east end Toronto McDonald’s says the gun that was involved was “lawfully possessed.”
Two men were killed early Saturday morning after an altercation at the Danforth Avenue McDonald’s escalated and multiple shots were fired.
Toronto police say an armed security guard who was apparently in the restaurant to buy food fired his gun following quote a “significant physical altercation” with two men.
Police say there were between 15 and 20 customers and staff in the McDonald’s at the time of the incident just before 3 am.
The security guard has been released from hospital following treatment for a hand injury. Police say he is cooperating in the investigation.
