Guilty plea in human trafficking case
There’s been a guilty plea in an Ancaster-based human trafficking ring considered to be the largest in Canadian history.
43 year old Lajos Domotor, who is reportedly dying of stomach cancer, has admitted to being part of the ring that lured Hungarians to Hamilton, forcing them to work for little or no pay.
Some of the victims told police they were treated like dogs, were held captive in Domotor’s basement and had their passports taken from them.
Domotor has been sentenced to another ten months in jail, after which he will be deported.
A 17 year old who pled guilty to similar charges, has already been sent back to Hungary.
