Guelph police get backup from Europe in child sex investigation

Guelph police are now working with authorities in Europe for their investigation into Jeffrey Dakin, who’s accused of sexually assaulting several young boys and girls.

The former volunteer at the Elmira Theatre Company was in court yesterday to face ten new charges, after five new victims came forward. Seven victims have been identified from the Guelph and Waterloo area, and two of his charges originated in Thunder Bay.

Guelph police expanded their investigation overseas after the 38-year-old was arrested in March, because he lived in several places around the world. Dakin has directed youth theatre groups since the early 1990’s.
