Grand Erie Public Health confirms 15 more measles cases in Norfolk County

Grand Erie Public Health has confirmed 15 more cases of measles in Norfolk County, bringing the total to 37 confirmed cases in the Grand Erie region.
The region includes the counties of Haldimand and Norfolk, Brantford and Brant.
Of the 37 cases across Grand Erie 32 are children. All confirmed cases are recovering at home, and the new cases are linked to known previous exposures.
The investigation has determined that people who were at the following locations may have been exposed to the measles virus:
- Houghton Public School, RR #5, Langton — Feb. 3 to Feb. 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:05 p.m.
- Delhi Community Health Centre Walk-In Clinic and Pharmasave, 105 Main St, Delhi — Feb. 8 from 9 a.m. to noon.
- Walsingham Christian School, 6th Concession Rd, Walsingham — Jan. 24, Jan. 30 to Jan. 31 and Feb. 3 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Norfolk General Hospital, Emergency Department, 365 W St Simcoe — Feb. 7 from 3 p.m. to 5:35 p.m.
Grand Erie Public Health has issued nearly 3,000 suspension orders for students who are not up-to-date on their vaccines. The orders will take effect on March 25.
