GO Transit, UP Express resume service after being halted due to system outage

Regular service has resumed for all UP Express and GO trains following a “network-wide system failure” affecting CN rail corridors Tuesday afternoon.
Metrolinx said in a social media post at 1:53 p.m. that all trains were holding at their nearest station.
“Our teams are working with CN to resolve the issue quickly and safely. We will provide an update when more information becomes available,” a spokesperson for GO Transit wrote in a statement.

GO Transit riders were advised to take alternative travel options.
Via Rail Canada also said some of its trains entering and departing Toronto’s Union Station would experience delays.
Service is continuing to recover with modifications and delays after today’s CN outage.
We intend to run our regularly scheduled train service tomorrow, Wednesday October 4, however there could still be some delays and modifications as we work to move our trains and crews back…

Metrolinx confirmed Wednesday that it has resumed normal GO Train and UP Express service with minimal disruptions.
