Gender reveal explosion rocks New Hampshire town

An explosion at a New Hampshire quarry that rocked several towns and could be felt as far away as Massachusetts was part of a gender reveal party.

Police say the blast involved more than 36 kilograms of a substance known as tannerite, which is an over-the-counter explosive target primarily used for firearm practice.

Residents of nearby towns reported knocked over pictures, shaking windows and and cracks in their home foundations as a result of the blast.

The person who allegedly purchased and detonated the tannerite is cooperating with investigators.
