Gehl murder trial

The murder trial of a woman killed in Kitchener back in 2009 continued in a Hamilton courtroom Wednesday.

The crown says Nadia Gehl’s husband talked about having his wife killed in a conversation recorded by an undercover police officer.

33 year old Ronald Cyr is accused of first-degree murder.

The crown alleges he had two friends shoot Gehl while she was walking to a bus stop near their home.

His alibi was that he’d be at work as a legal assistant.

The crown says Cyr told the undercover officer he hired his friends for a share of half a million dollars in life insurance.

The trial is expected to last about 8 weeks.
