Gas prices in Ontario hit their highest since 2022

Drivers are waking up to another spike at the pumps, with prices jumping to the highest they’ve been in nearly three years.

Gas prices jumped about 10 cents overnight, now sitting around $1.95 per litre at most stations.

Experts say the increase is part of a steady upward trend, with prices rising in recent weeks due to global supply pressures and higher refining costs.

Ongoing geopolitical tensions, including concerns around Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, are pushing crude prices higher, while seasonal demand and refinery maintenance add to the squeeze.

Analysts warn prices could remain elevated through May.
