Garden art: sculpture collection on display at Royal Botanical Gardens

(Updated) The Royal Botanical Gardens is known worldwide for spectacular flora, but today comes the announcement that the national historic site is expanding its non-organic displays.

The international sculpture collection was launched with a donation of a million dollars worth of artwork from Dan Lawrie, a Hamilton insurance broker who lives in Burlington.

Currently there are four sculptures in Hendrie Park, including one called Rejoicing Family by an artist from Zimbabwe, and another called Pollinizers by Hamilton artist Dave Hind, which depicts two hands pollinating a fruit blossom.

The RBG hopes to add 20 works of art over the next ten years.
