Funding secured for connecting First Nations to provincial power

The group behind a project trying to connect 17 remote northern communities to Ontario’s power grid says the project is now fully funded.

The group says it’s secured financing for the Wataynikaneyap Power transmission project for costs up to 1.9 billion dollars.

The 1,800 km transmission line is expected to be completed by 2023.
