Four arrested in Halton child porn bust
As they announced their latest arrests, Halton police showed lots of graphs and maps Wednesday morning to demonstrate how many they’ve busted in the past couple of years for having, or sharing, child pornography on the internet.
They talked about how these images are evidence of child abuse, and how victims are re-victimized over and over because once an image is posted it is shared around the world in an instant.
In Halton, last month 158 computer locations were accessing child porn.
Wednesday morning alone, police say they found 6 in Oakville, 7 in Burlington, 4 in Halton Hills and 5 in Milton – numbers that continue to fluctuate.
Halton police have doubled their internet child abuse unit from two investigators to four, and warn anyone engaging in this activity can expect a knock on the door from police.

The four people charged with possession of, and making available, child pornography are:
- -Robert Knight Bowley, 31, of Bluefields Crescent, Burlington
- -Cody Crocker, 20, of Watson Avenue, Oakville (also charged with breach of recognizance)
- -Gerald Legere, 62, of McFarland Court, Campbellville
- -Andrew Rutledge, 18, of Parkgate Crescent, Burlington
Investigators say the four have no connection with each other.
Police say prevention is a big part of their strategy, such as having parents talk to their kids about sexting and sending racy pics to their friends.
Those are the sorts of things that could suddenly be shared around the world by predators.
