Former Hamilton councillor Reg Wheeler dies
Long-time Hamilton politician Reg Wheeler died this weekend.
He served on city council from 1960 to 1985 and again from 1988 to 1991. He also once worked as a melter at Dofasco.
Wheeler played with the Wildcats in the pre-Tiger-Cat era and sat on the committee for the Football Hall of Fame. During his time on council, he pushed for the construction of the Burlington Street overpass and new bridges at the city’s west entrance.
He was inducted into Hamilton’s Gallery of Distinction in 2001.
Reg Wheeler was 93.
