Football Marauders out of OUA playoffs

In the OUA quarterfinals at Ron Joyce Saturday, things did not go well for the McMaster Marauders, as they fell to the Laurier Golden Hawks by a score of 29 to 15.

While the Marauders never really had control of the game, it was only a 3 point deficit after a quarter and late in the 3rd quarter it was only a 5-point Laurier lead.

However, no matter how close Mac would come, they could never take the lead and ultimately fell in the quarterfinals.

McMaster quarterback Asher Hastings did have 320 yards in the air with 2 touchdowns.

But it was Laurier’s offense that was dominating. They had 538 yards of total offence, including Dillon Campbell who ran for a whopping 295 yards. Mac could not stop him.

The Marauders finish the season 6 and 3.

A tough way to end the campaign, especially after losing to Western last week at home as well.

Afterwards, even coach Stefan Ptaszek had a hard time explaining the last two weeks.
