A Burlington woman has broken a Guinness World Record, after running a full marathon backwards.

Kat Clewley ran backwards for 4 hours and 48 minutes to complete the race, at Hamilton’s ‘Road 2 Hope’ marathon earlier Sunday.

The former professional soccer player is also the first Canadian female to ever complete a marathon backwards.

Clewley is using the run to fundraise for theYMCA’s ‘Beyond the Bell’ program, an after school program geared to closing the gap between children from low income areas and their middle-income peers.
