First snowfall of season could see 10cm for Golden Horseshoe

The Golden Horseshoe should expect to see between 5 to 10 centimeters of snow on Sunday in the first snowfall of the season.

Higher snowfall amounts are anticipated for the higher terrain of the Niagara Escarpment.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the area as roads are expected to be slick and to warn people heading on the road Sunday to plan ahead.

The wind is blowing northeast at around 30 km/h with gusts near 50 km/h.

Northern parts of Ontario and into Quebec may see up to 20 centimeters of snow.

Environment Canada has issued a snow squall watch for London, Ont. and west toward Lake Huron.
