Fire destroys historic farmhouse

A fire has destroyed a vacant, historic house in Milton.

Firefighters were called to the building on 4th Line South of Derry Road just before 2:30 Friday morning.

The back of the building was fully involved when crews arrived and flames quickly spread to the roof.

Because the building was unoccupied and the hydro had been disconnected, the blaze is considered suspicious, and Halton police have been called in to investigate.
