Fire at Ottawa Street home in Hamilton causes $100K in damages

Hamilton Fire Department says a fire at a home on Ottawa Street North Friday morning caused around $100,000 in damages.
Firefighters say they responded to a call just after 4:43 a.m. and found a fire between two homes on the street.
They say the fire was quickly brought under control, and determined the origin of the fire to be in the bathroom ceiling and attic space at 53 Ottawa St. North.
The fire department says the fire is not suspicious and that the fire is suspected to be due to an electrical issue.
They estimate the damages to the area to be around $100,000.
There were no injuries reported.
Hamilton police posted on X that they closed the street at just before 5 a.m.
