Around 3 o’clock this morning the fire department sent 11 trucks to the scene of a fire at the Hells Angels old clubhouse on Gage Avenue and Beach Road. Flames were through the roof.
The building is empty but the property owner has hired a security guard to stay at the property. The guard called 911 when he saw that the second floor was on fire.
The fire department says the blaze was caused by the electrical system and that it is not suspicious. Damage is estimated at $75 000.
The Hells Angels motorcycle gang was evicted recently after a dispute between the landlord and the city over back taxes.
What was once an active clubhouse for dozens of members is now gutted.
