Hamilton police chief looks back on ‘interesting and complex’ 2025

VIDEO: On the final day of 2025, Hamilton Police Chief Frank Bergen looks back on a year that he calls “interesting and complex.” The chief sat down with CHCH News to look back at the past year — a year that saw a decline in shootings overall, but was marred with the public killings of two innocent bystanders. The chief also looks to 2026, and the expansion of programs such as the Core Patrol and Intimate Partner Violence units. The year ahead will be Bergen’s last full year in his role, as he eyes retirement some time in 2027.
