Police in York Region say six people are facing charges after a multi-jurisdictional drug trafficking investigation that led to the seizure of more than 100 kilograms of cocaine.

They say several law enforcement agencies — including police forces in Toronto and Durham Region, provincial police and Correctional Service Canada — were part of the investigation that began three months ago.

Police carried out search warrants at homes and storage lockers in Toronto, Vaughan, Barrie, Espanola and Innisfil, and at a correctional facility in Gravenhurst, Ont.

In addition to 102 kilograms of cocaine, investigators say they also seized a loaded firearm and over $135,000 in cash.

Four men and two women are facing numerous drug trafficking and firearm charges as a result of the investigation.

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact them.
