Fire at Hamilton Port Authority

A building at the Hamilton Port Authority was evacuated Friday morning because of an industrial fire.

Upon arrival, crews reported heavy smoke conditions from a smoldering fire in insulated material on the roof of a railway car.

The resulting the alarm was then upgraded to bring additional fire crews to the scene.

The small fire was quickly extinguished and crews remained on scene for a period of time to remove smoke from the building.

No injuries were reported and there is no estimate of damage.
