Families in Welland lounged and soaked up the sun in giant inflatable floaties

Thousands gathered in Scuba Park off the Lincoln Docks to float down Niagara’s only lazy canal.

The family-friendly event was free and BYOF “Bring your own floatie”. This is the fourth year of “Floatfest” and organizers decided to change it up.

Coordinators asked participants to bring their hats, sunscreen and now canned goods to donate.

To add a humanitarian aspect to the festival, a food drive is held each year.

The donations go to the Hope Centre and Open Arms Mission to help those in need.
