The F Word
The F Word is a Canadian comedy directed by Michael Dowse (Goon). The film follows two twenty somethings who form an instant chemistry when they meet at a party. Wallace (Daniel Radcliffe) immediately thinks he’s found “the one” in Chantry (Zoe Kazan), but there’s a problem: she’s happily in a relationship and living with her longtime boyfriend. With the help of their friends the two try and navigate their way through the platonic relationship while trying to keep their romantic inclinations in check. The film co-stars Megan Park, Adam Driver, Mackenzie Davis, and Rafe Spall.
In life timing can be everything, and it was this idea that screenwriter Elan Mastai applied to love when he was writing his Canadian Screen Award winning screenplay for The F Word. “What If the right person comes along at exactly the wrong time? It’s about those undeniable connections you make with people that aren’t always convenient. Timing is such a big part of finding the right person. I like the idea of an ethical romantic comedy – people trying to do the right thing. To me the essential theme of the movie is you can’t lie your way to happiness.”
The F Word is rated 14A.
