Exodus of Palestinians to south Gaza accelerates

Thousands more Palestinians are fleeing northern Gaza to the south, along an evacuation corridor set up by the Israeli military.

It’s the fifth consecutive day Palestinians have used the corridor to escape the carnage in the north, where Israel’s military continues to engage with Hamas.

Entire families are carrying what they can – with food and water supplies running out – as they escape clashes between militants and Israeli forces in Gaza City.

But Israeli bombs continue to fall in the south of the area too, making no place truly safe in Gaza.

The only way out of the enclave closed today… the Rafah border crossing into Egypt shutdown due to a security problem.
