Sandy Powell is a one of the most lauded costume designers working today. Her list of accolades includes 3 Academy Awards from ten nominations and 2 BAFTA wins out of eleven nominations. Powell brings that creative talent to Disney’s Cinderella, where she had the daunting task of bringing the colourful fairy tale’s fashion to life, glass slippers and all. It’s a change of pace for Powell, who has been Matin Scorcese’s designer of choice for his last 6 films.

We sat down with Sandy at a preview exhibit late last year to talk about adapting iconic animated fashions for a live action film.
