Ex-mayor: casino opponents ‘motivated by fear’

Updated A Hamilton city council sub-committee met again today to weigh the pro’s and con’s of a new casino.

We already know that if a new casino is built in Hamilton, the city’s medical officer of health wants strict restrictions on gambling. But today city councillors were able to ask her questions directly. And while the mayor and some councilors believe that keeping a casino in Flamborough is the preferred location, one former city politician says a downtown casino is just what Hamilton needs.
