Escaped inmate David Sweat shot and in custody

Escaped convicted murderer David Sweat was shot and captured by police near the Canadian Border Sunday.

Officials say Sweat was wounded but is alive and was taken into custody.

His partner in crime, escaped inmate Richard Matt was shot three times in the head and died on Friday.

The pair escaped three weeks ago from the Clinton Correctional Facility in New York City.
