EQAO results are in

EQAO results for elementary students are in. The tests were given in the last school year to grade 3 and 6 classes in reading, writing and mathematics.

The Hamilton-Wentworth school board saw scores increase on five out of six elementary EQAO tests.

These gains came in reading and writing, while scores showed that students are still having a tough time with math.

Only 59% of grade 3 students with the Hamilton-Wentworth school scored at or above the provincial standard, down 1% from last year.

For grade 6 students, 49% scored up to standard, the same as last year. Math scores also decreased for the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic board.
