Emergency crews on scene at St. Catharines apartment fire, no injuries reported

St. Catharines firefighters are responding to a fire at an apartment building located at 57 Carlisle St.

Emergency crews say no injuries were reported, and all people at the building are accounted for.

Carlisle Street is closed between St. Paul Street and King Street, but is expected to reopen around 4:00 p.m. Thursday.

The apartment building is in the final stages of construction, and workers were present on site.

Officials say the fire began in a mechanical room that extended to the roof.

St. Catharines Fire Services posted on X at around 1:30 p.m. that they were able to put out the fire.

It is not being deemed suspicious.

Crews are asking people to avoid the area for the time being.
