Elderly woman held captive
A man is facing charges after an 87-year old woman was held captive in her Georgetown home for more than four hours.
Police say they were called to the home yesterday but couldn’t get in because the door was locked. When the woman tried to unlock it the man dragged her, threw her to the ground and started kicking her. When police got inside he was kneeling over her with a knife to her throat. There was a standoff and the man was tasered. The woman wasn’t seriously hurt.
Police say the two did not know each other.
John James Rodney Hill, 28, of no fixed address, is facing several charges including break and enter, robbery, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and assaulting an officer.
