Egypt gets interim leader after Morsi’s ouster

(Video updated) Egypt has a new, temporary, president sworn in by the military a day after it ousted Mohammed Morsi from power.
The head of Egypt’s supreme constitutional court, Adly Mansour replaces Morsi after just a year in office, and will serve until a new president is elected.
A date for that vote has yet to be set.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Mansour praised the protestors – who began holding mass demonstrations four days ago demanding Morsi step down – saying they united Egyptians.
Morsi is under house arrest at an undisclosed location. Egyptian security officials say the Muslim Brotherhood’s supreme leader has been arrested in a coastal city and flown to Cairo on a military helicopter. An arrest warrant was issued in connection to the deaths of eight protesters in clashes outside the brotherhood’s Cairo headquarters.
Nearly 50 people have been killed in clashes between Morsi supporters and opponents since Sunday.
