East Hamilton bar accused of liquor licence violations prior to 2025 fatal crash

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has recommended a 60-day liquor licence suspension for a Hamilton bar after a fatal collision was connected to an impaired person who had allegedly recently departed from the bar.

Shortly after midnight on June 1, 2025, Hamilton police were called to a three-vehicle crash on Upper Centennial Parkway.

Authorities say both the driver and passenger of one of the vehicles were killed in the crash.

Officers have since charged one of the drivers with speeding, impaired operation and careless driving.

The AGCO says their investigation revealed that Rosedale Sports Bar & Eatery, in Hamilton’s east end, had allegedly allowed a customer to become intoxicated while continuing to serve them alcohol.

It is alleged that the customer was later involved in the collision that left two people dead.

The AGCO says the bar violated the Liquor Licence and Control Act by selling alcohol to a person who appears intoxicated and allowing a person to be intoxicated on the property.
