Earthquake shakes B.C.

An earthquake hit off Vancouver Island just after noon local time Friday.

It measured 6.4 on the richter scale and was located around 180 kilometres south southeast of Port Hardy and 300 kilometres west from Vancouver.

Damage was minor and there is no word of any injuries.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre posted an information bulletin that says no tsunami is expected.
