On March 7 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deported a drug trafficker back to Canada as part of the Canadian Treaty Transfer program.

Thirty-two-year-old Canadian citizen Christopher Anthony Frater entered the U.S. in early July 2022, violating the terms of his admission.

The District Court of Nebraska convicted Frater in Sept. 2023 of possession with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine.

He was sentenced to 120 months in prison.

ICE later located Frater in a New York prison and removed him from the country based on his alien status and federal conviction.

He was handed over to Canadian authorities at the Prescott, Ont. port of entry.

Frater will serve the remainder of his federal sentence in Canada.
